During the COVID-19 pandemic, cases spiked and lockdowns were enforced in most regions of the world. In the United Kingdom, the NHS was moving forward with an Office 365 implementation, and – being Micrososft Teams users themselves since more than a year, our colleague Paul Lipton, Solution Manager Enterprise Imaging Viewer, and his team realised that this could be an opportunity to do something unique to facilitate clinicians with the COVID-19 situation.
There was a need for intra-hospital and outer-hospital collaboration and image sharing. Hence, Agfa HealthCare and Microsoft joined forces to connect their XERO Universal Viewer and Microsoft Teams platforms. Today, over 450 users across the Trust are now able to quickly share urgent imaging results from XERO and collaborate with other healthcare professionals connected to Microsoft Teams.

Recognizing the huge difference the integrated solution makes during the COVID-19 pandemic and the collaboration between caregivers, HealthManagement.org interviewed Paul Lipton on his work to get XERO Universal Viewer & Microsoft Teams integrated.

We are so proud to share the article that is included in HealthManagement.org’s COVID-19 Superheroes issue.
